Dibley is the village in which The Vicar of Dibley takes place. It is in the county of Oxfordshire and has a very small population.
It has been described by the vicar as "the inbreeding capital of the world" and also described by Owen Newitt as "a dump". It has been visited by Elizabeth I on one occasion during which she vomited all night from food poisoning. Dibley faced certain destruction when it was threatened by the Water Board when the Board was going to turn it into a reservoir. Luckily, The 'SAVE DIBLEY' campaign halted this event.
